Arthrex is proud to have helped a member of Team USA Hockey with a shoulder issue, allowing her to continue to play and bring the gold medal home from the 2018 Winter Olympics!

Jocelyne Lamoureux–Davidson has excelled at hockey since she was all-state as a teenager. But she had a shoulder subluxation a handful of times during her college career.

In 2014, Jocelyne said the injury had become a managing act due to chronic instability.

“I knew if I wanted to continue to play, I needed to have surgery,” she said. “I knew that after surgery, if I rehabbed it correctly, I would come back healthier than before.”

Joffrey Thompson, MD, (Grand Forks, ND) operated on Jocelyne, repairing her shoulder with five SutureTak® anchors and double-loaded sutures.

Jocelyne, who is married to RSW Medical representative Brent Davidson, had a nine-month recovery, but said she noticed a difference right away.

“The day to day aches and pains subsided and my shoulder was feeling the best it had since high school!” she said.

Jocelyne turned in several incredible performances during the Winter Olympics in PyeongChang, South Korea, including setting an Olympic record for the fastest consecutive goals by a man or woman and shooting the winning goal that gave Team USA the gold medal against Canada.

“Words still can't describe what it means to realize a lifelong dream with this special team!” she said. “I can't wait to share this with everyone back home and the people who have been on this journey!”

We are also excited to announce that we have secured a contract with Jocelyne for a patient testimonial video to be produced soon.
